Escrava Isaura plot
Brazil, the eighteenth century. Miguel tries to get a colored enslaved, whom he loves and who is carrying his child, released. Almelda is the wealthy master of this young woman, who has to work on the sugar cane plantation he owns. However, he refuses to part with her. After the birth of the child, who is called Isaura, the mother dies. Almelda's wife, Esther, does not want Isaura to be raised by enslaved people; she is raised in Almelda's house, as if she were part of the family. Then Almelda's son, who he returns abroad, eventually falls in love with the 'slave girl'.
