De Familie Knots plot

The series is set in the home of the Knots family. The eccentric Tante Til (in full: Mathilde) is a painter. The salon studio is her workshop. Til is married to Frederik. Frederik used to be a window cleaner, but after a fall from the ladder he is unemployed at home. As a window cleaner, he has been able to peep through all 422 windows of the police station intensively for ten years and thus copy the art, he has declared himself detective Onkel X and is constantly investigating things thoroughly. Grandpa Herman and grandma Johanna Knots, the parents of Aunt Til, are sitting in the kitchen. Downstairs, the Knots family has a comic book swap shop, where the (grand)niece Hansje stands behind the counter. Hansje has a crush on the teacher Arend Vogel, who rents a room in the attic because of his exhaustion. Finally, there is cousin Herbert, the civil servant. He often visits his family and loves toys and gift surprises.
