Private investigator Richard Diamond takes on the responsibility of helping the NYPD solve the city's most complicated cases, but enlists the help of his secretary Sam. When he moves to Hollywood, Richard meets the young Karen Wells, whom he falls in love with. Now he has to divide his time between his new girlfriend and his work.
