De Tranen van Tito plot
It has been thirty years since war broke out in the former Yugoslavia. Tito - the leader of Yugoslavia - kept this country together, allowing different peoples to live peacefully together for years, despite different languages and religions. But after Tito's death in 1980, Yugoslavia goes downhill. The country is falling apart. Due to the deteriorating economic situation and by nationalist politicians who incited their population against the others, the relations between the different population groups are deteriorating. This eventually ends in a war. 30 years later, Iva Bicanic travels to the seven countries of the former Yugoslavia: Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Kosovo, Montenegro, Macedonia and Bosnia. What is left of the brotherhood from Tito's time? Have the wounds of war healed? And what is the perspective of the youth today?
