On the day after Christmas 1999, while a violent storm ravages Europe, 11-year-old Charlotte Meyer disappears without a trace in the heart of the Landes region. Police Commander Pierre Castaing is appointed to lead the investigation. Deeply shocked by his failure to find the girl, Castaing is ostracized by the community as his own family falls apart.

Astonishingly good first three episodes of this French crime series.

After that, he does give up a bit. It takes some time and almost identical situations follow each other. Also a bit less believable, but it remains fascinating and exciting until the end.

Nice series anyway, and with convincing acting.
