The Good Life plot
Tom and Barbara Good decide to turn their suburban home into a self-sufficient business on Tom's 40th birthday. They grow their own food, keep farm animals and have got rid of all their electrical appliances because they no longer have electricity. This causes some friction between them and the neighbors, their best friends, Jerry and Margo Leadbetter, but they remain best friends, even if the neighborhood has deteriorated a bit.
