55 Degrees North plot

When Inspector Nicky Cole agreed to his transfer to Newcastle, he didn't think he would always have to work the night shift there. He reconciles with the terrible working hours, in the hope that he can go back to the day shift soon. But his boss leaves no doubt about it: if Nicky wants to work during the day, he must first achieve resounding results. That will really have to happen at night, before the inspectors of the day shift go to work and take the credit. Unfortunately, Nicky has two colleagues who are willing to do anything to prevent him from ever getting, let alone solving, an interesting case. Will Nicky finally manage to get some real detective work on his plate?
