Hamilton's Pharmacopeia plot

Hamilton Morris is fascinated by all drugs and their effects. He sets out to investigate a species more closely per episode. He discusses the history, the chemical information and its social impact. He visits both scientists and users. He also gives the prescription for the drug in question and sometimes even shows how it is made. In this way he wants to dispel any myths and broaden the viewer's consciousness.

Hamilton's Pharmacopeia season 1

Fantastic!

Hamilton Morris is one of them. As a nerdy goofball with a dark edge, he travels town and country in search of the preparation methods and stories behind all kinds of drugs. Unfortunately I've only seen three episodes (one from another season) and it's questionable whether I'll be able to check them all, but it's pure gold how he dives into slums in an adventurous way to get experiences, stories, backgrounds, formulas , preparation methods and what not to be able to sniff (sometimes by accident literally). The best man is an admirer of every founder / creator of the drug formulas (sometimes almost scary, but that makes him all the more intriguing) and so we get a totally non-teaching docu-series with all kinds of strange user guys, who seem completely normal (! ) chemists, hardcore drug enforcement types (one of them, paraphrased: "Drugs? No man, I'm already going hard on a Snickers!"), drug dealers and the fabricators.

Come on, one more paragraph, because since seeing only three episodes I am increasingly interested in the confrontation with higher spheres, in whatever guise - the drugs in question really are not. It occasionally makes good sense why specific users use their specific drugs and it often sounds plausible too. But the backgrounds and history of a drug's genesis are also often as baffling as they are interesting. It looks like one long adventure, invariably ending with a quickly listed preparation process, whether or not accompanied by a real video testimony of what is being told (it could still be staged, but that doubt is not with me higher than 0.001%) - so if you want...

It's usually not done for me to give a rating after two episodes, but in this case: *****.
