Insomniac with Dave Attell plot
Dave Attell is a stand-up comedian. In this series, he travels across America. He does a show in the city in question and then dives into the nightlife. Like a true travel guide, he visits cafes, strip clubs and nightclubs and talks to whoever he meets. The average 'guest' on the show may be naked, wearing the opposite sex, or just completely drunk.

As a kind of insomnia, I had a lot of fun with this a while back. Was featured on CC. Genre comedy is correct, but also falls under reality. After a performance, Attell goes into the city in question purely on credit and prefers to seek out extravagant, bizarre places. He is a sympathetic figure who knows how to get along with this or that one and he shows a nocturnal urban America like I've never seen it before. Hilarity almost always follows, fueled by drugs and alcohol and more alcohol and drugs.
It's been a while since I saw it and I'm curious how it would look now, but I'm willing to give it a big 3.5 *.
