Nisemonogatari plot

Sequel to the Bakemonogatari series. Koyomi Araragi is a high school student who, after surviving a vampire's attack, has the ability to heal from injuries very quickly. Because of his knowledge of the supernatural world, he has already been able to help several girls at his school. One day he meets Deishuu Kaiki, who turns out to be a con man. It turns out that both Hitagi Senjougahara, Koyomi's girlfriend, and his sisters still have a bill with Kaiki.

Nisemonogatari season 1

Direct sequel to Bakemonogatari which can also be found on this site. The miniseries released after this, but which is a direct prequel to Bakemonogatari, is Nekomonogatari (Kurio and can be found on Moviemeter.

Like its predecessor, the title of Nisemonogatari is a play on words; a contraction of two words, namely "nisemono", meaning something like "counterfeit" or "scam", and "monogatari", meaning "story" or "fairy tale". The first word refers to two characters, namely Kaiki,
who is literally a crook, and sister Tsukihi, who is unknowingly some kind of supernatural cuckoo child.

In general, Nisemonogatari picks up where Bakemonogatari left off. Both in plot and fan service. The latter goes very far, and as far as I'm concerned it even derails a bit because some moments can simply be called incestuous. This is at the expense of the pointed dialogues, which made it all seem a bit less fresh than Bakemonogatari; this despite the animation that seems to have improved slightly.

All in all, slightly less than the predecessor. 3*.
