Goede documentaire over de opstand in vernietigingskamp Sobibor in Polen. De serie belicht via gefilmde interviews van Jules Schelvis in de jaren 80, twaalf overlevenden. In recent materiaal zoeken de makers kinderen en kleinkinderen op om de impact op hun (eigen) leven te duiden. De laatste aflevering gaat over de daders. Wellicht te fragmentarisch om volledig te kunnen overtuigen, maar Echo's van Sobibor is aangrijpend door de pijn die generaties lang doorgegeven wordt.

A compelling documentary about the uprising at Sobibor extermination camp in Poland. The series features twelve survivors through filmed interviews conducted by Jules Schelvis in the 1980s. In recent footage, the filmmakers visit their children and grandchildren to explore the impact on their (own) lives. The final episode focuses on the perpetrators. Perhaps too fragmented to be fully convincing, Echoes of Sobibor is moving because of the pain passed down through generations.
