De Nederlandse Kampbewakers van Auschwitz season 1

Indeed quite a compelling documentary about the search for the names of Dutch SS'ers who worked in Auschwitz. Of the 24 people who were tracked down, only a few did so reluctantly or at least as punishment because he refused to take the Hitler salute oath. The rest seem or appear to have done so with full understanding and conviction. Incomprehensible. Not even for their (grand)children.
Everything is chillingly and calmly filmed and based on testimonies, years of archival research and interviews with survivors and relatives.

Even though the gruesome details of the concentration and extermination camp are largely known, it continues to have an impact. It is all the more sad that today there are still groups such as Hamas and Hezbollah that openly seek to destroy Jews.
