Very disappointed in this season, especially since I gave the first season 4.5*. I really like mysterious storylines and complexity (Lost, The Missing etc.), but here it all got a bit too much for me. Then this character is dead again, then that character comes back to life... it took the tension out a bit.
The cinematography, costumes, locations and acting was again fantastic. Newton, Wood and Harris play very strong characters just like in the first season, Thompson is a beautiful appearance, Wright steals every scene and I was very happy to see Hopkins again.
In terms of storyline, I thought it was a shame that the main lines are so often deviated from, especially the trip to the shogun world and the complete eighth episode. It was all really cool to watch, but it took the pace out of it way too much for me.
I think I'll give the third season a try, but I hope they can get the story back on track. Otherwise I'll even be forced to change my profile picture, we don't want that of course.

Very disappointing, hard to follow, often lost track. . It looks great, but the chaotic storylines made this season a terrible letdown! Pity!

Just like the first season, it is very changeable and quite long-winded. This time there is more action and less plot; something that doesn't stop the characters from philosophizing endlessly. Certain episodes are, however, very strong and visually the series is also impressive this time. Because of the slow pace and the mostly silent dialogue scenes, it is sporadically blown through, but all in all I'm looking forward to season three. The series continues to intrigue, despite its significant flaws.
