Spitsbroers plot

In Spitsbroers, the Moerman brothers take the viewer in tow for ten weeks in the arena of Belgian football. The game is their great passion and they dream aloud of a career as a professional football player. One of the two breaks through, the other is left empty-handed. Both have to make choices, deal with success and failure, pay prices. And they both have to grow up.

Mooi, leuk en interessant. Natuurlijk zijn de acteerprestaties niet van een danig hoog niveau dat je bij andere series terugziet, anderzijds hou ik echt van die tussentalen en dialecten in Vlaamse series. Met momenten wat overdreven en ook redelijk wat clichés in deze serie, maar echt een onverwacht en zeer sterk einde, en daarvoor alleen al kuddo's. Gewoon de brute waarheid over hoe je als mens door een profvoetbalcarrière en de daarmee gepaard gaande roem verandert, en in tegenstelling tot wat je zou verwachten, iemand die niet slaagt in het buitenland. Moedig dat ze daarvoor gekozen hebben!

Beautiful, fun and interesting. Of course the acting performances are not of such a high level that you see in other series, on the other hand I really like those intermediate languages and dialects in Flemish series. With moments a bit exaggerated and also quite a few clichés in this series, but a really unexpected and very strong ending, and kuddos for that alone. Just the brutal truth about how a professional football career and the fame that comes with it changes you as a person, and contrary to what you might expect, someone who doesn't succeed abroad. Encourage them to do that have chosen!

Nee, ik vond dit jammer genoeg aanzienlijk zwakker dan het tweede seizoen. Beetje meer afronding in seizoen 1 en dan had men het perfect bij één seizoen kunnen houden vind ik. Ik stoorde mij ook nog meer aan bepaalde accenten die mensen gebruikte terwijl ze overduidelijk niet van die streek kwamen.

No, unfortunately I found this considerably weaker than the second season. A little more completion in season 1 and then they could have kept it perfectly at one season, I think. I was also more annoyed by certain accents that people used when they clearly didn't come from that area.

Bert haelvoet en kris cuppens maken voor mij de serie. Het verhaal is leuk en afwisselend en je ziet eigenlijk eens hoe het achter de schermen gaat, al moeten we dit ook niet helemaal serieus nemen. De maker is blijkbaar de broer van Carl Hoefkens. Hij zal dus hier en daar wat weten hoe het gaat in de voetbalkkleedkamer. Ibbi is een leuk personage, maar is wel niet meer zo fris na het eerste seizoen. Enige minpuntjes: Het gemaakte Limburgse dialect en de ondertiteling en dus vertaling van dat dialect. Neem gewoon de eerste en de beste Limburger en hij kan voor betere ondertitels zorgen. Ook de voetbalbeelden waren overdreven getrukeerd. Als je dat allemaal kan win je gegarandeerd de gouden bal.

Bert Haelvoet and Kris Cuppens make the series for me. The story is fun and varied and you can actually see how it goes behind the scenes, although we shouldn't take this completely seriously. The maker is apparently the brother of Carl Hoefkens. So here and there he will know how things are going in the football locker room. Ibbi is a nice character, but is not so fresh after the first season.

Some minuses: The Limburg dialect created and the subtitles and therefore translation of that dialect. Just take the first and best Limburger and he can provide better subtitles. The football images were also exaggerated. If you can do all that, you are guaranteed to win the golden ball.
