Had to struggle through the first episodes. Pretty slow (in a negative sense) and I got tired of another woman falling head over heels for Spector (the nurse). Rather stupid scenes in the hospital where she looks at him like a wet mussel, touches and questions (also as if she would have plenty of time) and all lit up as if it were a romantic place.

Once in the mental institution there is yet another person who is sold from the first second. It's been clear for a long time since the characters of Katie and Rose (who is recovering in the hospital) that people are quickly captivated by him. In S3 it is much too thick on top, as if the viewer suffers from amnesia.

Also unbelievable how 'free' he can walk around (barely guarded and handcuffed), given his actions and character. The only thing that pleases me so far is the sown doubt about amnesia.

Thankfully, the last two episodes are a turning point. Nicely done how things ignite after all the rest (the contrast of the brutal and quite unexpected outbursts of violence against Gibson and the psychiatrist). That still provides a worthy conclusion, but with a sour aftertaste from the start of the season. Actually, S3 doesn't add much.
