I'm quite disappointed with the second half of this season, so my previous message has come out: that 3.5* has not survived, lowered to 3*.

I thought it was all a bit long-winded, so I just watched the last four episodes in one go instead of one episode every week. I'm especially disappointed with the outcome of the last episode. Totally illogical in my opinion, unless I forgot something from the first part of this season. I got the idea that Frank should have been dead and not Wes, but this didn't make sense to me either. I do expect that the fourth season will come with more answers, because here the board was completely missed. Episode 12 also got off to a bad start, there was too much variation from the memorial to the trial. The memorial was quite emotional and during such a moment there was suddenly a switch to the courtroom. Not really appropriate. Wes also deserves a proper goodbye, but I don't think he really got it. I did miss this.

This season is mostly saved by the first half and the mid-season finale, which I still think is the best episode of the series. There were also quite a few charms in the second half, even things that you don't expect. So it is by no means insufficient, but I do think that much more could be done.

Must admit that the level gradually decreases as the season progresses. Like every season, the first half of the season is the best. Each episode focuses on an interesting case and in between we see flashforwards to the denouement. Halfway through (or actually only at episode 10) is the big reveal and the episodes after that are only about that.

Viola Davis still acts phenomenally, but the actors who play the students are also clearly getting better in their roles. Unfortunately, we're going to have to miss Wes in the coming seasons, although that's not the most interesting character of the group. It could have been, as Miszmi pointed out, Frank dying.

Pros are the first episodes and the exciting mid-season finale, but I'll deduct half a point for that boring aftermath, i.e. the last 5 episodes.
