Bodkin plot

A colorful group of podcasters decide to investigate the mysterious disappearance of three strangers in an idyllic Irish coastal town. But once they begin their investigation, they discover a story far bigger and stranger than they ever imagined. Meanwhile, they try to distinguish fact from fiction, about the case, about their colleagues and, most painfully, about themselves.

Vermakelijk zonder hoogstaand te worden. Fijn om Will Forte weer eens wat serieuzer te zien.

Entertaining without being high-minded. Nice to see Will Forte a bit more serious again.

Ik weet het niet. Het is wel erg veel cliché weer, met een journalist die naar een afgelegen dorpje gestuurd wordt, dwarsligt met de mensen met haar irritante houding, maar uiteindelijk tegen wil en dank connectie maakt, dat soort dingen. Verschil is dat het nu journalisten zijn ipv agenten, hoewel soms het verschil niet zo te merken is. Iets waar de serie zich wat meer wil onderscheiden tov de andere mysterieseries, is de vaak wat luchtigere toon. Er zit meer humor en 'gekkigheid' in, tegen de achtergrond van de zaak. Dat werkt op zich best ok. De Ierse omgeving en cultuur is zeker een plus. Geen hoogvlieger, maar -zoals toch wel veel mini-series- voor 7/8 afleveringen voldoende vermaak.

It's a lot of cliché again, with a journalist who is sent to a remote village, who annoys people with her irritating attitude, but ultimately makes a connection against her will, that kind of thing. The difference is that they are now journalists instead of agents, although sometimes the difference is not so noticeable. Something where the series wants to distinguish itself more from the other mystery series is the often lighter tone. There is more humor and 'craziness', against the background of the case. That works quite well in itself. The Irish environment and culture is certainly a plus. Not a high-flyer, but - like many mini-series - sufficient entertainment for 7/8 episodes.

Inderdaad de eerste afleveringen erg leuk, aan het einde worden alle dingen "opgelost" en de eindjes aan elkaar geknoopt. Haalde het vreemde/mysterieuze er helemaal af. Dat was jammer, maar voor de rest wel vermaakt.

Indeed the first episodes very nice, at the end all things are "resolved" and the ends are tied together. Removed the strange/mysterious completely. That was a pity, but otherwise entertained.
