Inspector Dodds is an experienced, quiet and humble detective from Bath. He must team up with the new Chief Inspector McDonald, a driven and confident officer who has been transferred from South London. When Dodds returns to the front lines for the first time in ten years, he discovers a hidden talent for deciphering puzzles. In the end, the two, seemingly having nothing in common, forge an effective partnership.
