"Can't you see, this game brings nothing but misery?!"
To a mediocre to weak, season 4. I didn't have too high expectations for this series anymore. It is rare that a weak season is followed by perhaps the best season.
The tension and pace is high this season! An even faster pace than S3, with some conclusions you didn't see coming. Episode 4, is surely an episode that can go down in the history books of Dutch films / series. Honestly, a phenomenal episode!
The storylines are clear, no “out of nowhere” moments. No, all the storylines came together well this season. There was a clear purpose here. Also, the episodes have a longer running time in general. No more episodes of only 39 min.
The only thing I have trouble with every now and then are the dialogues and the acting. I know that writing sharp dialogues is an art in itself, but this is sometimes really too mediocre. Acting is always a thing. Ever since S1, I keep mentioning this every review and it's something that stands out again this season. Emotion and conviction in the acting are unfortunately lacking in many.
Still, I want to explain that Achmed Akkabi surprised me this season. He was really strong this season, definitely his best season!
Just abig rip, for all teammates of “Team Pencil/Romano. Again, lost this season… Pencil, I thought was the strongest character by far, which was also the best developed. Unfortunately, he also exits… Strongly performed, by Nasrdin Dchar.
