The Bay plot

The Bay is located in the coastal town of Morecambe Bay. We follow Detective Lisa Armstrong, who is charged with investigating missing persons in this unique village. At first, it looks like another tragic, well-known case. As a seasoned police detective, Armstrong is trained never to get emotionally involved in a case. But there's something about this particular case that makes her realize she has a personal connection to the concerned family, which could endanger her and the investigation.

The Bay S2 is one such quintessentially British crime drama, starring the landscape and Morven Christie (Lisa Armstrong). Both are overwhelming. With a solid dose of Broadchurch (which level is never reached anywhere), this drama develops at a pleasant pace. A murder of a family man leads to a search within his very secretive family. The screenplay is supported by several private plot lines surrounding Armstrong and her children. Not necessarily very exciting and quite predictable. The team meetings are also quite repetitive, especially for binge watchers; it's a repeat of what we saw just before. The finale is underwhelming, but the acting of Christie and Daniel Ryan (DI Tonny Manning) keeps S2 just standing.
