Narcos: México plot

Narcos: Mexico explores the origins of the modern drug war by going back to its roots, starting at a time when the Mexican drug world was a loose and disorganized confederation of independent growers and dealers. Witness the rise of the Guadalajara Cartel in the 1980s when Félix Gallardo took over and traders united to build an empire. When DEA agent Kiki Camarena moves his wife and young son from California to Guadalajara to take on a new position, he soon discovers that his assignment will be more challenging than he ever imagined. Ik vond dit seizoen toch wel wat beter dan het vorige, al wordt het niveau van de eerste 2 seizoenen in Colombia niet gehaald. Maar die waren wat mij betreft dan ook iconisch. Spanning en actie genoeg wat mij betreft, en met Amado, Acosta en Guerra zitten er toch ook wel een paar mooie gangsterkoppen in. Mooi om te zien hoe die laatste twee een soort god zijn in hun persoonlijke leefomgeving. Wat ik alleen niet helemaal snapte, was waarom de FBI zo nodig Acosta moest omleggen, terwijl hij veel meer waarde had als infiltrant. Maar het is echt gebeurd blijkbaar, dus er zal wel een reden voor zijn. Ben benieuwd of er een vervolg komt, aangezien er al een El Chapo serie bestaat. Maar wat ik daarvan gezien heb vond ik nou niet zo aanlokkelijk, dus ik hoop dat deze makers er nog even mee door gaan.

I thought this season was a bit better than the previous one, although the level of the first 2 seasons in Colombia is not reached. But they were iconic to me.

Enough suspense and action as far as I'm concerned, and with Amado, Acosta and Guerra there are also some nice gangster heads in it. Nice to see how the last two are a kind of god in their personal living environment.

The only thing I didn't quite understand was why the FBI needed to kill Acosta, when he was much more valuable as an undercover agent. But apparently it actually happened, so there must be a reason for it.

I wonder if there will be a sequel, since there is already an El Chapo series. But what I've seen of it I didn't find that appealing, so I hope these makers continue with it for a while.

Ik vond dit seizoen ook wel iets beter dan het eerste. Voor het verhaal was het nodig dat de afzonderlijke plaza's meer aandacht krijgen en dit wordt goed uitgewerkt. Doorlopend punt van kritiek blijft het tijdsbeeld, dat verre van Mad Men standaarden is. Ik krijg te weinig het gevoel dat het verhaal zich in de jaren '80 afspeelt.

I thought this season was a bit better than the first.

For the story it was necessary that the individual plazas receive more attention and this is being worked out well.

Ongoing criticism remains the era, which is far from Mad Men standards. I don't get the feeling that the story is set in the 80's.
