Tjockare än Vatten plot

Anna-Lisa Waldemar runs a popular family pension on the beautiful island of Sunnanö in the Swedish archipelago with her son Oskar. Unbeknownst to her, she invites his brother Lasse and sister Jonna to the season opening. Oskar is barely recovered from this shock when his world collapses: Anna-Lisa is found dead and her will contains strict provisions for the three children. During the whole season they have to run the guest house together, otherwise they will inherit nothing at all. It is her last attempt to reunite her children.

Stemmige zweedse dramaserie, met op de achtergrond uiteraard de nodige familiegeheimen. Sfeervol gefilmd en uitstekend gespeeld, vooral door de drie hoofdrolspelers. Had hier en daar wel wat vlotter verteld kunnen worden, maar meeslepend en onderhoudend genoeg. Maar of er nou zo nodig een tweede seizoen moest komen...

Atmospheric Swedish drama series, with, of course, the necessary family secrets in the background. Beautifully filmed and excellently played, especially by the three lead actors. Could have been told a little more smoothly here and there, but compelling and entertaining enough. But if there was a need for a second season...
