The Law Commands plot
It's 1862. In Johnson County, Iowa, the Homestead Act has yet to be signed. The evil landowner John Abbott plans to make Johnson County his own and wants to drive out the local settlers. Abbott has Johnson City's boss and settler representative Jed Johnson murdered by his accomplice Frago. dr. Keith Kenton, who had advised Jed not to use violence against Abbott, is blamed for the murder by Jed's children Mary Lee and Danny. Abbott exploits this and has Danny convince the settlers to hand over much of their proceeds to him. Meanwhile, Kenton travels to the governor to ask for support for his fight against Abbott.
