The Cold Deck plot
A gambler, Jefferson (William S. Hart), gives up that life because of his sick sister who comes from the east. He takes her high into the mountains, but realizes that a doctor will ask for $500 to come when needed. To get that, he robs a stagecoach, and one person is killed. The question is whether he fired the fatal shot.
