Texas Rangers Tex Wyatt, Jim Steele and Panhandle Perkins are tasked with transferring a safe to the small town of Dry Valley. Along the way, they spend the night in the ghost town of Mystic and are ambushed by bandits. They manage to repel the attack and later arrive in Dry Valley. Tex Wyatt is assigned to keep watch at the vault while the others are invited to dinner. After dinner, the others discover that the safe is gone and Tex reports that it was ambushed by the same bandits who raided them earlier in Mystic.
