Gentleman from Texas plot
"BULLETS BLAST THE BADLANDS!"
Trevor of Wells Fargo sends Johnny Macklin to Rimrock to investigate why the stagecoach line keeps getting delayed and why they don't keep their promises. According to local Wells Fargo agent and mayor Tom Jamieson, this is caused by saloon owner Steve Mitchel and his gunslingers Duke Carter, Ace Jenkins, Slats Harper and Jess Stover. When Steve kills a man who tricked him into playing poker, the Rimrock Chronicle, owned by Jim "Idaho" Foster and published by his daughter Diane, thinks it's time to clear the city by forming a vigilante. Mayor Tom Jamieson swears in Johnny Macklin as marshal. Macklin deliberately lets 'gunslinger' Slats Harper hear a story about a fictitious shipment of gold by stagecoach.
