"A Thriller of the Sage-Brush Land"
Fitzsmith finds himself in a battle for water, the number one thing ranchers need to keep their businesses running. Along the way, he encounters dying cattle. The cattle die of thirst. He manages to save the cattle by shooting a hole in a water pipe. The water pipe belongs to Jeff Hoades who hoards the water to scare the ranchers away.
