Brimstone plot

Pop 'Brimstone' Courteen was a simple rancher, who now compensates for the loss of his pastureland and thus his income by robbing stagecoaches and banks. The Courteen gang, which consists of his three sons Nick, Luke and the introverted Bud in addition to Pop, one day faces competition from 'The Ghost', a mysterious outlaw. In reality, this 'The Ghost' Marshall is Johnny Tremaine. Tremaine investigates the Corteen robberies incognito, and his investigation leads to Gunsight City Sheriff Henry McIntyre, who turns out to be employed by the Courteen gang.
