War Brides plot

During WWII (1939-45), thousands of European women married Canadian soldiers. Full of hope, they arrived in the land of unlimited possibilities. Four of these women meet on their way to their new homeland. The German Lisa has to deal with the anti-German feelings that are plainly displayed in her town. Val feels lonely despite the presence of her husband's entire family and friends. Kate, along with her baby, is warmly welcomed by her new family. However, Ellie is disappointed. Her husband was pulled out with another woman.
