Verdun, Visions d'Histoire plot

In early 1916, a young French soldier comes home to break the news to his mother that he will soon be sent to the front near Verdun, an area hitherto untouched by the conflict. Shortly after his arrival, the German offensive begins. Commanded by the German Crown Prince, Verdun must be taken with a relentless attack so that the French army quickly surrenders. From February 21 to December 15, 1916, a fierce battle rages in the area around Verdun, leaving the region devastated and the casualties on both sides reaching into the hundreds of thousands...
