Tobruk plot
In a training camp in Egypt, two newcomers have just arrived. Pospichal and the lanky, child-faced Jew, Lieberman, are added to the army unit led by Sergeant Borny, a drilled and fairly tough nut to crack. One day they arrive in Libya. The supplies suddenly start to disappear like snow in the sun and their minds seem to be going to break as the Germans start shelling them with heavy artillery. Soldiers fall by bushes. They think everyone is going to die in this battle. Pospichal gets lost in the desert trying to return to his comrades, but is eventually reunited with the unit. But the tragic climax, in Tobruk, is yet to come...
