The Deep Six plot
"We'll get there and we'll get 'em out!"
Alec Austen is a gun officer in the navy, but his Quaker background and pacifist sentiments don't exactly serve his job well and aren't much appreciated by his colleagues. When he refuses to shoot down a plane, rumors quickly spread that Austen cannot be trusted on the battlefield. To prove his worth, he voluntarily offers to go on a dangerous mission.
