Colin Spence is a vacillating Canadian corporal who is suddenly put in charge of his unit during WWII when their sergeant dies. The four remaining soldiers are now stranded in the desert with no water. To forget all the misery around him, Spence thinks back to his romance with his beloved Valentine.
