Kelly Halligan moves from New York to California with her 17-year-old niece. She plans to start her own business there. When the niece joins a soccer team, the two meet Dominic, the handsome soccer coach. They also meet the unstable student Maddie, who is also on the soccer team. While a relationship develops between Kelly and Dominic, Maddie also shows an interest in Dominic. She becomes obsessed with him.
