The Suspect plot

Together with her husband Paul - a successful lawyer and widely respected war hero - and a sweet stepdaughter, Beth James leads the perfect life. Until that one night, when Beth sees from her bedroom window a stranger murdering her husband and burning his body. But doubts arise about her story when the police discover that she took out a life insurance policy on his life just weeks before Paul's murder. In addition, a large sum of money has disappeared from the accounts of Paul's clients. The police search her home and find the murder weapon, with her fingerprints on it. After Beth is arrested, both the community and her stepdaughter turn against her. Determined to prove her innocence, she escapes from prison.
