The Surprise Visit plot
When a young couple with drug problems pays a surprise visit to one of their mothers, they get an even bigger surprise from an old family friend. He plans to steal the older woman's jewelry while she is out of town. When the theft, which should have been easy, goes haywire after someone is killed, the drug addicts are forced to make a tough decision: give up on themselves or do the unthinkable.
