The Guardian plot

"John Mack is going to protect you . . . whether you want him to or not."

Charlie (Martin Sheen) is an extremely freedom-loving apartment dweller with a great aversion to authority. He gets quite the jitters when, after a series of burglaries, John (Louis Gosset) is hired as a guard, a dominating, oversimplified Marine type. If the sneaking in and (also) the murders don't subside, he gradually starts to suspect him.
