Silent Motive plot

"She's a Hollywood screenwriter learning that sometimes... words kill."

Laura Bardell (Patricia Wettig) gets into trouble when a psychopath commits a murder that bears a close resemblance to one of her stories. She immediately suspects the man who once sued her for plagiarism. However, he emerges as a corpse; the verdict is suicide, but the circumstances then resemble another Laura Bardell plot. Inspector Det. Paul Trella (Mike Farrell) does indeed see her as the prime suspect.
