"A really sweet disaster"
Lydia Kaminski (Sally Sander) is the learned, ambitious wife of Prof. dr. Leo Kaminski (Helmuth Lohner), who is nominated for the Oskar Flobell Prize. She develops a recycling bacterium, which means that the garbage dump will be a thing of the past. A bacterium escapes through a clumsiness and it turns out: paper turns into sugar; a national disaster: valuable incunabula, libraries, paper money, legal texts, parliamentary reports, newspapers and even toilet paper are being converted. The thesis of Robert Flemming (Bruce Spence) is also sacrificed. However, he does not intend to let his scientific work be eaten away.
