Robot World plot

"A pilot is marooned on an alien planet and soon discovers the planets only inhabitants are predatory machines."

Experienced pilot James is single-handedly on his way to a distant planet. His assignment is to do research, because it is believed to be inhabited. However, an accident causes his spaceship to fail and James is trapped on the mysterious planet. James soon discovers that he is not alone and that he is being watched by predatory machines. James' ration is decreasing and he will now have to find a way to communicate with the machines so that he can complete his task and then return safely to Earth.
