Existence plot

John, a promising young science professor, has recently been diagnosed with a fatal illness that leaves him with only a year to live. Determined that he will not cease to exist, he experiments with his unproven research ideas to embed his consciousness on the Internet as a simulated version of himself. John's wife Sarah, a freshman anthropology student, fears that John's experiments will fail at best, or at worst create an artificial entity that isn't her husband.
