"Stranded a million miles from Earth"
For the foreseeable future, we will still depend on mineral ores for our sustenance, only they are now coming from space. And just like an earthly extraction, this one is not without danger. Marcus, the lone survivor of a mining disaster deep in space, attempts to return to Earth in a fairly battered lifeboat. The long, lonely journey home is interrupted only by conversations with his employer, who, it turns out, soon has a hidden agenda. Rightly or wrongly, because Marcus also keeps things hidden from his employer.
