"There is such a profession - to defend their homeland"

The film tells about several generations of a Russian family, against the background of the history of the Soviet Union. Two army officers friends are in love with the same woman. The friendship is so strong that it is not broken by this love. When the woman chooses one of them, the other accepts and remains a friend of the family.
