Melody for Two plot
Band leader Tod Weaver fires his arranger Mel Lynch, because he demanded a new contract. Tod was a bit fed up with Mel anyway because he drinks a lot. It also turns out that Mel used to have a relationship with Tod's current sweetheart. But Mel's resignation comes at an inopportune time. It's the night before the opening of Tod's new club.
