Dach überm Kopf plot

Karoline is in her late thirties, has worked for many years in the family restaurant on the island of Rügen and has also raised a son. She now decides to start a new and independent life. On a whim, she uses her savings to buy a house on the outskirts of Berlin, which on closer inspection turns out to be a hovel. The building is about to collapse and it also has an illegal resident. She throws him out, but he immediately helps her with the rebuilding afterwards. Due to the renovation costs Karoline is almost ruined and that is why she sells her car and can still finish the house with great pride.
