Hwan-Hee is a much sought-after magician in the Moorangroo, a district of Uiji within the Joseon Dynasty. Hwan-Hee carries with him a difficult childhood: as a child he was abused by Gwi-Mol, a Qing dynasty illusionist, after which he ran away with his friend Bo-Eum. To this day, they are concerned that Gwi-Mol will find them. Meanwhile, Cheong-Myung, a princess of the Joseon dynasty, is reluctantly forced to marry the prince of the Qing dynasty. In Uiji she meets Hwan-Hee and the two fall in love. However, Gwi-Mol returns to Joseon to look for Hwan-Hee and Bo-Eum, and a conspiracy is brewing in the princess's circle of friends.
