Studio One Story plot

It took a year and a half of filming before this documentary came about. Studio One is one of Jamaica's best-known record labels and recording studios. Almost every Jamaican reggae artist has worked for the label at one time or another. Founded in 1954 by Clement "Coxsone" Dodd, Studio One was instrumental in the great movements of Jamaican music of the 1960s and 1970s: ska, rocksteady, dancehall and reggae. In the 1980s, Dodd partially closed Studio One in Kingston.
