Manager Joseph Sharkey discovers the naive Virgil Walker, who has a huge singing talent. Sharkey takes Virgil away from his familiar environment, gives him a completely new look and turns him into a national rock 'n' roll sensation. Virgil nearly collapses under the pressure of his sudden fame.
