Der Bettelstudent plot

Krakow around 1700. The proud lady Laura does not allow herself to be seduced into marriage by the arrogant Saxon Colonel Ollendorf. In revenge, he ignorantly lets her marry the poor student Symon. What the man does not know, however, is that Symon is preparing a sophisticated coup with his friends.
