"You can't escape your sins!"

An exhausted security guard is transferred to a morgue. During his first night shift, he discovers that the silence and shadows there hide something unbearable and inescapable. What begins as a routine job transforms into a nightmare from which there seems to be no escape.

Mexican horror thriller with an intriguing setting, but lacking sufficient visual flair and, above all, a story that is too flat. Tormento is, in fact, little more than our protagonist walking through a soulless environment and occasionally encountering a threat. Nevertheless, director Olallo Rubio manages to orchestrate a reasonably engaging spectacle on camera, featuring a number of noteworthy confrontations and a mysterious plot. However, once it becomes clear that the whole thing actually has little to offer, the film falls apart. The short running time helps considerably, but not enough for a passing grade.
